Ana González Muñoz

Reynolds School Board Member Position 6

Ana currently lives in Fairview, OR with her husband, three grown children, and three grandchildren. In her spare time, she likes to dance, be physical active and spend time with her family.

She earned an AAOT from Chemeketa Community College (CCC), a B.A. in History and a M.S. in Education from Western Oregon University. She is currently working on a MAT in Spanish Teaching degree through Southern Oregon University at Universidad Autónoma de Guanajuato, Mexico.

Ana has over 20 years of experience working in education from Head Start to higher education. Through that time, she has worked in specialty education programs, such as: the Migrant Education program, the Farmworker Youth Opportunity Program, and as an Admissions Counselor for Multicultural Student Recruitment.

Her teaching experience took place at Central School District, and CCC. She taught English Language Development (ELD), Spanish Language Arts and she was an Adjunct Instructor for Leadership Development and for the ABE/GED Spanish program. Furthermore, she received the Advisor of the year award in 2014 for leading JUNTOS student leadership program for five years at CCC.

Ana currently works at Latino Network as the Associate Director for family and community engagement. She oversees the Colegio de Padres (CDP) program, Immigration Navigation Services, Ballet Folklórico, ESL, and Computer Classes among other educational programs. Additionally, she is the building manager for the new Latino Network Rockwood office.

Ana has overcome the many struggles and challenges a first generation college student faces. She is a strong advocate for equity-based education, parent involvement, student voice, and she represents the marginalized and underrepresented school community. Her calling is to serve; therefore, she is taking the right step towards becoming the next Reynolds School Board member.
